Gone Girl' Review, News Updates: Receiving Killer Reviews, Topping the Chart and Beating Annabelle
Looking for a thriller to spice up your movie time? Want to have a break on all the super hero stuff that has been going on for a while? Reviewers have spoken, critics have acclaimed that "Gone Girl" shall be on the must watch and never miss movie list.
Let's check out why.
Under the direction of David Fincher and the participation of Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the global best seller fiction "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn is now out in cinemas and has been receiving killer reviews basing on the latest post on CBSnews. The movie debuted last September 26 and premiered October 3. Gone Girl generated a whooping $38 million for the first weekend and another $26.8 million for the second week, topping the chart and beating Annabelle. Not bad, huh?
In the movie, Ben Affleck takes the role of Nick Dunne, an ex-journalist and a bar owner in Missouri who immediately acquired the "public spotlight" after his wife, Amy played by Rosamund Pike, has gone missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. Everyone's asking, did he really lost his wife or murdered her ---- technically speaking, it's still unclear if the wife has been killed, kidnapped or just plain missing.
Checking the trailer was a bit more thrilling than expected. We noticed that the movie will have lots of flashbacks from the past accompanied by Amy's voice reading excerpts of her diary, portraying Nick as a not-so-perfect husband to be, leading to conclusions like Nick is the real killer. Probably, he has gone mad, altering the reality that he knows and searching for his missing wife.
As we have mentioned earlier, the Gone Girl movie is earning positive feedbacks and killer reviews from the media. Let's check one of them.
Clint O'Connor noted in Cleveland.com that, "Flynn and director David Fincher have produced a compelling drama that is well-worth seeing. It features first-rate performances from Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Carrie Coon, Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry, among others. And, although a little on the long side, it should satisfy fans of the book as well as the uninitiated."
What happened in the end? Checking the responses of Director David Fincher during an exclusive interview with Stephan Lee of Entertainment Weekly, seems like Gone Girl has an open ended story.
According to Fincher, "... Gone Girl had Nick and Amy, a very lethally entwined couple, also moving to a new phase. Whether bad or good we do not know, because they actually are bringing to life an imaginary baby. It was playing around with that a little bit, too."
Woah! I think I just read a baby? Spoiler Alert! Watch the damn movie, and let's all see for ourselves how this thriller movie will turn out.
