Bryan Cranston Responds On Florida Mom Petition
In Florida, USA a mom wants to have a petition against the “Breaking Bad” action figures which she had perceived on Toys “R” Us shelves. She said that these were not suitable for children. “Breaking Bad” maybe a persuasive kind of viewing for most adults, its brutal content and deliberation of drugs make the collection unsuitable to be sold on the shelves of Disney characters and Barbie dolls.
According to New York Daily News, Susan Schrivjer said that the figurines of Jesse Pinkman and Walter White do not belong on the toy store. It comes with gas masks, a bag of crystal meth, and bag of cash. Schrivjer also added that she was also shocked upon seeing the action figures in Toys “R” Us. This provoked her to make a petition making it to have 4,000 supporters.
In her petition, she mentioned that Toys “R” Us is famous all over the world for their wide range of toys for children. However, the decision to make the “Breaking Bad” for sale along with a bag of cash, a bag of meth on the shelf of children’s toys was a risky deviation from their values.
Despite her view on action figures, she also said that she was a big fan of the show. Furthermore, Schrivjer also called the show “riveting”.
On the other hand, Toys “R” Us stated that the products were carried on a minimal quantities. The packing of the products were noted clearly that it was intended for ages 15 and up. The items from the TV series were located on the adult section of their store.
Toys “R” Us refused to take the petition seriously, and in the statement from WFTX revealed that they will not get those figures off their shelves regardless of how many supporters it congregates.
The petition had reached the Hollywood Actor; Bryan Cranston who was the lead of the show playing Walter White. He was the award-winning actor of AMC series and he had responded to the petition and made some humorous tweets.
