LG Proudly Presents: G Watch R Smartwatch
Smartwatches are the perfect watch for skilled craftsmen, ironworkers, plumbers and more others. If you are one of the hardworking men today, an Android Watch is perfect for you.
LG proudly presents their new gadget, not a smartphone unlike other huge companies are releasing today, but a smartwatch, the new LG G Watch R. It's not the first company to launch one, since Apple, Motorola, and Samsung just launched theirs, but the LG G Watch R also has its own unique and stunning features.
This new smartwatch from LG has some similarities with the other smartwatches in the market. However, the R's battery life easily beats that of the Moto 360, its direct Android Wear competitor. And there's a lot to like about LG's Plastic OLED display, too.
According to PC World, "the G Watch R will be available in early November," but the prics of this smartwatch is not yet announced. Maybe you should watch out for our next article for you to have the latest update on the watch's price. But for now, let's focus on the performance of the smartwatch. PC Worlds say "this G Watch R is an android smartwatch to beat."
This smartwatch has a sporty-techy design. It's a little bit wider than the Moto 360. If measured vertically, G Watch R measures 2.25 inches. LG's watch comes in a stainless steel case in black color. The design is elegant because it has hand-crafted design.
The G Watch R has an IP67 rating, meaning the watch can survive for 30 minutes underwater but only in a depth of one meter. The G Watch R can also be replaced with any standard 22mm black leather strap.
Most of us thought the Moto 360 would deliver everything we wanted in a round display, but it turns out there are two significant drawbacks. First, Motorola's 1.56-inch IPS LCD display isn't a full circle. It has a 320x290 resolution non-existent pixels at the bottom of the screen. This is where Motorola hides the display circuitry of he watch. Second, the Moto 360's ambient mode is rather dim, which makes the watch extremely difficult to read. The G Watch R addresses these two limitations of the Moto 360.
It's important to note that the G Watch R has a relatively modern 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor compared to the Moto 360, that has a 4-year-old TI OMAP3630 chip.
Also, PC World added that the G Watch R comes with 18 watchfaces; it can show the current moon phase, the current time, plus two world clocks. It can also count and display your current step in its face called Hiking but according to those who tried the watch already, sometimes the counting doesn't tally in reality. It also has a built-in heart rate monitor which was consistent with the readings reported by LG's Heart Rate Earphones, a great new gadget that delivers the accuracy of a chest-strap heart rate monitor.
This is really a good Android Wear watch that you need to have in your wrist every day. The G Watch R delivers all of this in a reasonably attractive package that's really easy to read and lasts for a long time. According to Android Central, it might not be the best ever, but it's the best smartwatch today. An Android Wear update is just around the corner and we might have it sooner or later. The G Watch R looks even more intriguing now then when it was first announced in August. This version might not be the perfect one but maybe it's better to watch out for the best version that is yet to come.
