'The Maze Runner': Keep Running for Your Life

"The Maze Runner", a film that will let you jog on, hit the theaters on September 19, 2014 in Canada and US. It stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Blake Cooper, Aml Ameen, and Carl Greene.

Mixed with best and worst moments, "The Maze Runner" was based on the best-selling novel of James Dashner's with the same title. Wes Ball is the director of the film and Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Lee Stollman, and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein are the producers. The runtime of "The Maze Runner" is 113 minutes. According to International Business Times, the film's plot is about the group of boys, which includes Gally and Thomas who are living in Glade, which is the adjacent to the wall that opens to the large maze. Thomas does not remember anything and he tried to recover pieces and bits of his memory as he tried to escape the labyrinth, which he is trapped in.

The film also features Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jacob Latimore, Alexander Flores, Dexter Darden, Randall D. Cunningham, Joe Adler, Chris Sheffield, and Patricia Clarkson.

Based on Movie Pilot, the thing that capture the atmosphere of the film is the maze itself. The maze is like a character in the film as this loomed over the Glade's inhabitants. It has an interesting design with its moving solid pieces. In addition to that, the Glade's enemies, Grievers, were also extraordinary in terms of concept. The film has a perfect tone because of the maze and everything within. John Paesano also did a great job to the effect of the film.

"The Maze Runner" is a surprising film. In terms of adaptations like "The Hunger Games" and "The Lord of the Rings", this film does come up a bit short. But, the film was able to impress some critics, thanks to its sense of mystery, effective atmosphere, and strong cast. It also offers a remarkable experience, which you should not miss.

According to Box Office Mojo, the budget of the film is $34M. Upon hitting the theaters, "The Maze Runner" has earned an average of $85,769,405 across the globe.
