'Buffy the Vampire Slayer': Got Tangled With Lead Star Nicholas Brendon Idaho Incident
The star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Nicholas Brendon was in Boise, Idaho on Friday, for the Tree City Comic Con. Unfortunately the event was coupled with a serious incident at the hotel which led to his immediate arrest, around 10pm, and was consequently charged with two offenses, Malicious Injury to Property and Resisting or Obstructing Officers. He was released after posting a bond.
The details of the incident was revealed by a police statement in Time Magazine, stating that, "When officers arrived, they found the suspect who showed signs of intoxication and repeatedly refused officers commands to stay seated while officers tried to speak with witnesses. When the suspect continued to try and walk away, officers took him into custody for resisting and obstructing."
Reported by Ace Showbiz, Nicholas Brendon finally posted on Monday, a statement regarding his arrest on facebook. He wrote, "I apologize. Usually those words end a message like this but I am beginning with them to emphasize how much I regret disappointing my family, my fans, and myself. I can offer an explanation but I make no excuse for my unacceptable behavior." He concluded, "Again: I apologize. Those two small words don't begin to express my regrets, but they do mark the beginning of my recovery. During this difficult time, I appreciate understanding as I pursue rehabilitation - and I value support as I earn redemption with my family, friends, and fans."
The actor is scheduled for a surgical procedure and has been under pain medication due to a cyst behind his knee cap. His unbecoming behaviour was a product of being under the influence of alcohol while taking prescriptions for his ailment. Yet he conceded that such is not an excuse for the offenses committed. Instead, he will opt to seek medical treatment not only for his ailments but also to manage and take control of his emotions.
TMZ reported that a representative of Nicholas Brendon issued a statement in behalf of the actor that he want to express his apologies to the Boise PD and the hotel personnel. He said that, "It would be extremely helpful, if we could all put this misunderstanding behind us and focus on more positive things."
