'The Originals Season 2' Episode 3 Recap: Esther Shows a Double-Edged Mother's Love; Mikaelson Brothers Had a Decent Fight
CW's fantasy drama series has again delivered a thrilling episode last week packed with mother's love and siblings conflicts. "The Original Season 2" episode 3 revealed Ester's real agenda with her children, Guardianlv reported.
After Mikaelson brother figured out that their witch mother is back, Elijah and Marcel look for some help in order to know their mother's true intentions. The matriarch of Mikaelson's has the power to transfer from one body to another, thus her children are having a hard time figuring out who she really is.
As the brothers look for some help, they come across Lenore who eventually told them what to do. In order to track their mother's movement, they need a python and an item that carries a spell from their witch-mother. The next scene featured a flashback that showed Esther giving a necklace with spell to his son Klaus, Hypable said.
The necklace was given to Klaus after their seventh sibling, Henrick, was killed by his own wolf dad. Henrick's father was then killed by Mikael. The incident was the reason why Esther made them all immortal, by turning them into vamps. Esther said the necklace carries a spell that would protect Klaus from anyone.
It then appeared that the necklace is not enchanted with spell that can protect Klaus, the youngest among the Mikaelson siblings. Ester gave her son the necklace to make him weak and to control his 'werewolf' blood that can make Klaus unbeatable and invincible.
Klaus necklace is already in the hand of Marcel because the younger Mikaelson gave the necklace to his older brother. After getting a hold of the necklace, Hayley was tasked to give the necklace to Lenore so they can start working for the spell that can track Ester.
"The Original Season 2" episode 3, titled "Every Mother's Son," also showed a verbal and almost formal argument between the brother, Klaus Elijah and Finn. "The Originals" fans have been used to seeing the Mikaelsons in brutal fights but this time the three fought through intelligently crafted snide remarks.
Ester, on the other hand, was able to invade Lenore's body and used her to say what she really wanted to do. In front of her sons, Ester, inside Lenore, said that she wanted to undo her act of making them immortal. She said her only intention is to 'heal' their family by giving them new bodies.
But all her children declined her offer. Ester then left Lenore's body but said to her children that they will be begging for what she offered them, someday.
"The Original Season 2" episode 3 is surely packed with revelations and its next episode will be delivering the same. International Business Times reported that the next episode, titled "Live and Let Die," airs on Monday.
