'Android 5.0 Lollipop' Update: Mobile Companies Plan Mobile Release in 'Android Lollipop'
As per the International Business Times, Samsung is up to officially unveil its Android 5.0 update schedule. It often takes 90 to 120 days for Samsung to throw an update following the formal announcement from Google. Google is predicted to unleash its Android 5.0 update for Nexus gadgets this November 2014, while other smartphone companies will follow after. Samsung, Motorola, and LG are bound to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop in the next few months. For Samsung, its plans will be revealed in 2015, mainly in the first half. Motorola has been recently acquired by Google and it is the lead in releasing the most recent Android updates from the Android maker. Motorola plans to update its whole range of Moto series to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop as soon as possible, specifically November to December 2014. Meanwhile, LG has a middling record in releasing its Android updates. It is expected that LG phones will have their Android 5.0 update in the first half of 2015.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS Update will be received by Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 10 in the next few weeks as planned, according to Christian Today. The new Nexus 6 smartphone and the Nexus 9 tablet will be the first devices to experience the Android Lollipop OS, as per CNET. The earlier models of Nexus devices will also be having their update on the new mobile software.
The new Android Lollipop showcases its Material Design, which is the new design language for the new android version. Moreover, the three new buttons for navigation are now a triangle, a circle, and a square. User interface elements are emphasized with depth, while using the shadow and the light sources. For the application interface, brand new features have been added such as automatic color generation based on the content, new animations, and touch feedback.
There have also been enhancements in the notifications for the Android Lollipop, as the notification panel has now been integrated with the lockscreen. The lockscreen displaysthe notification panel, allowing users to have a glimpse on recent events as they pick up the phone. Incoming calls as well as messages will also pop up at the top of the screen as notifications in case the user is browsing or playing a game.
