Apple iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 - Specs Comparison with Top Features

It comes down again to the battle of the giants in smartphone market. Although Apple and Samsung are better known to be fighting for their patent breach in court, apparently they have some good phones to offer too this season.

Samsung had already launched the Galaxy S5 few months and now Apple has come up with one its biggest iPhones yet, the iPhone 6, which has created quite some stir for both positive and negative reasons. So, which one is a better choice in terms of technology, specifications, and features.

Screen Size

For most of the gadget lovers, screen size and resolution are very important part of selection given that the kind of money involved with these two brands. Apparently, iPhone 6 provides three sub-pixels for a pixel on its 4.7-inch retina display as compared to 5.1-inch on S5. There is no doubt that Samsung offers bigger screen, but Apple's version is clearer and livelier. On the other hand, Samsung has Super AMOLED, which is not bad either.

Dimensions and Weight

According to Versus, Apple iPhone 6 is 16 grams lighter than the Galaxy S 5. Not only this, the phone is actually 1.20 mm thinner too, which gives it a nice advantage when carrying around. In fact, when it comes to holding the phone in a palm, iPhone 6 is actually much easier to hold due to lesser width.

Processor and RAM

Apple has used a brilliant A8 dual-core 64-bt processor against the 32-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core Although Apple's RAM is just 1 GB against the 2 GB from Samsung, the experience is great when these phones run some of the bulkiest applications like Facebook and Skype.

Camera

At 13 MP, the Galaxy S5 might seem a better deal against just 8 MP from iPhone 6, but when you look at the picture quality with image stabilization and bunch of other additions, Apple is again a winner. However, it cannot be said about the front camera.

Price

This is where Apple loses everything hand down. The difference is enormous at around $800 for iPhone 6 against $508 for Samsung Galaxy S5. Finally, it comes down to if you'd really like to spend that much for design and little spec edge.
