The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is based on the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat version, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, Adreno 305 graphic processor, and powered by a Quad core 1.2 GHz processor.
The Xperia Aqua is built with a 8MP primary camera with auto flash, a VGA secondary camera, full HD recording, Sony Exmour RS for mobile image sensor, High dynamic Range for photos an videos, Steady shot, Superior Auto (automatic scene selection), pulsed LED flash supported, 4x digital zoom, geo-tagging, object tracking, red-eye reduction, and many more features, as reported by Sony Mobile. The screen resolution of the M2 Aqua being high helps in featuring high quality image and video display. The M2 Aqua is built with mono speakers and supports all formats of audio. However, mono speakers are quite insufficient when coupled with high resolution imaging and display. The secondary camera could be still amplified, so that users can have the luxury of having high quality video chats and many more executions. Overall the media of this devise is quite reasonable. However, it could have been improvised.
The Xperia Aqua offers an internal storage of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD. The internal storage of 8GB is quite sufficient to store large number of contacts. However, when it comes to the expansion of memory, M2 Aqua supports only up to 32GB, which is again a disadvantage to the users. The expandable memory could have been amplified up to 128GB, which could have been more reasonable for users to store a number of images, documents, videos, and so on.
One amazing feature of the M2 Aqua is water resistance. Most of the smart phones in the market get damaged when contacted with water. The actual level of water resistance in this device is fantastic. It is rated I68 standard, which means it is completely impervious to dust and can be held underwater indefinitely without any ill effects. The actual execution of the M2 Aqua weatherproofing leaves something to be desired, though the holy grail of water resistance to a phone that can be dropped in water without annoying flaps. The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is marketed as the most 'water resistant' phone in the market till date, Tech Radar reported. The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is approximately priced at $290. The battery life of this gadget is also quite reasonable. All in all, it's a relatively powerful phone that can do a lot but priced cheaper than the premium phones of the company.
