Google Nexus Player Back on Track; Pre-Order Restarts after Getting FCC's Approval

It's as if tech-giant Google just want to entice the customers when it posted its new Android TV set-top box to its online store then take it back immediately. The minor glitch on Google Nexus Player's pre-order is caused by some issues with the FCC, 9to5google reported.

Android Police reported that Google was forced to take back the pre-order post in Google Play after "someone realized that FCC had not actually approved the device." The Nexus Player status was then changed into "out of inventory" thus hampering the pre-orders. Christian Today also reported that Google has announced that "it is not for sale until approval of the FCC has been obtained."

On the other hand, the search engine giant was quick to address the issue. Google officers paid a visit to FCC to get a certification that will allow the release of their new Android TV device. The FCC tested the new Nexus Player over the weekend and finally gave Google the go signal after "finding nothing suspicious" with the latest player from the tech and search engine giant.

Google Nexus Player, launched last October 16, will now be available for Pre-Order at $99. The Google's debut TV player is originally slated for a November 3 release but after a number of customers have already pre-ordered, the company may release the new device in an earlier date. It is also reported that customer who ordered last Thusday and Friday will be prioritized.

The Android TV set, unveiled with Google's Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, is a device that can be connected to a TV with HDMI input and HDMI cable to play games, view and use apps, and other activities that users would like to do. Google Nexus Player is the company's very first console that can be connected to home entertainment as long as there is WiFi available.

Google's newest device, with quad-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8Ghz, will also need a game pad that is not included in its $99 package. Google Nexus Player will have a tough battle with same devices like Roku 3, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
