'Fantastic Four' 2015: Rebooted
'Fantastic Four' 2015: Rebooted
As we all know, one of Marvel's comic-book franchises, "Fantastic Four," has not had a great run in the movie industry. If you remember, there was firstly a screen debut in 1994, when Roger Corman produced the "Fantastic Four" film that is not intended for public viewing. Then, there was the 2005 film, "Fantastic Four," followed by the 2007 film, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer"—two films that were unable to inspire the effort to create a full trilogy. But, "Fantastic Four" is coming back, and this time they will be starting all over again, hopeful for a better performance at the box office.
The 20th Century Fox studio is now in the process of rebooting the "Fantastic Four" movie franchise, wherein everything is new, from the direction to the cast. The finished product is expected to be one of the biggest films of 2015, according to a report from Cinema Blend.
Here, we'll make sure that you are updated on every little detail that you need to know about the film. In terms of the story of the film, the project has gone through multiple hands, meaning that it has undergone numerous revisions. There has even been one suggestion that the film will be based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comics that were released in 2004, whereby the titular team is featured in a more modern context; however, such rumors have not been confirmed by the studio.
Let's move on to the cast. If you remember, Ioan Gruffudd played the role of Mr. Fantastic in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer." This time, Miles Miller will be playing the role of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, and audiences will be keen to see how the relatively young actor, aged 27, will use his acting skills to play the role of Mr. Fantastic.
Next, Kate Mara will play the role of Sue Storm, a.k.a. Invisible Woman, following in the footsteps of Jessica Alba, whose interpretation of the role appeared in the last two "Fantastic Four" movies. Let's see how much she has learnt about acting from her previous film, "Iron Man 2," and whether she can apply the experiences from that blockbuster during her character development for the Invisible Woman.
In this film adaptation of the "Fantastic Four" universe, Michael B. Jordan will be playing the role of Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch. We just need to wait to see whether either Johnny or Susan will adopt the new version of their characters in the franchise.
And lastly, Michael Chiklis has been selected to play the role of Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing. The production team needed someone big enough to fill out the Thing's orange rock costume, and Chiklis has been able to provide the goods. However, the magic of technology is once again in the house, as the new version of the film will use motion-capture technology to ensure that audiences experience an incredible ride.
The director of the film, Josh Trank, received "two thumbs up" from the executives at 20th Century Fox as he finished his previous film, "Chronicles," in 2012. Trank will assume the leading role during the production of the film and will be responsible for the final decisions during the completion stage of the motion picture reboot of the "Fantastic Four" franchise.
Watch out for this all-new, action-packed movie, brought to us by the experienced team at Marvel! "Fantastic Four" will hit all theaters on August 7, 2015.
