'Guardians of the Galaxy 2': Another Cosmic Adventure Awaits this 2017
Following the triumph of the first installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy," director James Gunn has sanctioned that a second installment will be there for the fans to hope for. As of October 26, 2014, the action adventure Marvel film grossed an estimate of $328 million domestic and $424 million in other countries, for an estimated total of $752 million worldwide.
The hit movie starred Chris Pratt as Peter Quill as or -Lord as he teams up with Zoe Saldana as Gamora the human weapon, Dave Bautista as warrior Drax the Destroyer, along with the voices of Bradley Cooper as Rocket the Raccoon, and Vin Diesel as Groot the tree-like humanoid.
There will also be new female team members in the second installment aside from Gamora. Another possibility is that Groot, the tree monster who gave humor and sentiment in the first film, may be fully grown again in the film sequel, according to Cinema Blend. The director made a teaser in a statement to Variety. "It's going to be a really surprising open. What happens is all the characters are killed in the first 10 minutes," he good-humouredly said. "In a really horribly brutal fashion," he added. The director also mentioned that he spent all day writing the second installment on the first day of August, which was the day the first movie was released. Director Gunn shares his excitement about the movie that he gave off the last one and started with the second one. He also considers the film as wide as a universe and not just a single story. Gunn also let fans know what they can hope for, since "Guardians of the Galaxy" will also be released soon in DVDs. On the other hand, head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb gave a preview of the upcoming television series adaptation. "This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel universe by developing the first-ever Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy animated series," Loeb told The Hollywood Reporter. "After starring in the biggest movie of 2014, everyone wants more of Star-Lord and his crew - now they'll get it," he added. Fans are definitely excited for now. The second installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to debut in theaters and cinemas on July 28, 2017.
