The movie Begin Again released on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday (October 28) and with the release comes exclusive behind the scenes footage. You can check out a clip above from the extras. 

Mark Ruffalo and other crew members share about how they used New York City as a character in the film. "I love working in New York. I love how wild it is," Mark says in the clip. "It has a life of its own that if you're trying to fight, it will kill you. But, if you can kind of go with the flow, magical things can happen. It's a great place to fall in love and it's a great backdrop for the story."

Maroon 5 singer and "The Voice" NBC judge, Adam Levine, made his movie debut this Summer in Begin Again. He plays a solo artist musician, Dave, and co-stars in the movie with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. The film released to theaters on July 4th. 

Begin Again is from writer-director John Carney, from Exclusive Media/Likely Story and The Weinstein Company. It premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Gregg Alexander co-wrote songs for the film with Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley, Nick Southwood, and Rick Nowels. John Carney and Glen Hansard also contributed as songwriters for the film's music. The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener and James Corden was produced by Anthony Bregman and Tobin Armbrust. 

Plot: Gretta (Keira Knightley) and her long-time boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) are college sweethearts and songwriting partners who decamp for New York when he lands a deal with a major label. But the trappings of his new-found fame soon tempt Dave to stray, and a reeling, lovelorn Gretta is left on her own. Her world takes a turn for the better when Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a disgraced record-label exec, stumbles upon her performing on an East Village stage and is immediately captivated by her raw talent. From this chance encounter emerges an enchanting portrait of a mutually transformative collaboration, set to the soundtrack of a summer in New York City.
