Nextbit Features Baton Latest News, Updates, Info: The Ultimate App-switcher; Funded By Accel Partners And Google

Finally the Nextbit comes to the arena with their first product launch Baton; a special service that will assist the rapid flawless hand-off apps switching between the Android devices. Member of Google family Tom Moss and mike Chan. founded the company. The big names Accel Partners and Google have been quietly funding the project for long since. After all the rumors the curtain opens from the latest product release of the company

The main functional system of Baton takes deep integration of the cloud, which merge with its operating system. For example, user can switch between Android devices more often without losing the data. If a file is opened in a device and left undone then user can switch to another device and resume exactly from where he or she left the document. It is also applicable for games and other features.

The flawless continuity system in Android has been hugely influenced by the Apple's hand off continuity feature. Similar type of principle was firstly introduced by Apple that allow to synchronize Apple devices like iPhone, iPad or even Mac to continue from where user left off. This kind of initiative is never easy but it was a bit less hectic project for Apple since its devices are manufactured by only Apple Company while there are numerous Android smartphone manufacturers. Therefore, the software system might be similar but hardware segment differs a lot for different devices.  However, the organizers managed to create the bridge between Android devices to run the project successfully.

The initial assessment of the Nextbit indicates the features will be limited for manufacturers attempt to embed the system directly to Android based operating system. However, this won't work through app and organizers have to deal with the OS directly. The beta version of the Baton will be available firstly that will run on CyanogenMod which is an alternative of Android OS. According to Moss some smartphone carrying the CyanogenMod system will used to commercially launch Baton at the end of the year. Customers will be able to enjoy the premium features by upgrading the beta version by payable premium service.
