Alien: Isolation Review: A Flashback to the Original Movie through Sega's 'Alien' Stealth Game, Various Reviews on Alien: Isolation Game
Sega released their new survival horror stealth game, Alien: Isolation, on October 7 this year. The new Alien game is available for consoles PlayStation3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It's also available for Microsoft Windows Users.
So far, the game has been generally receiving good reviews. Den of Geek stated, "Isolation is made with a captivating attention to detail and what feels like a genuine affection of the original film. In fact, it could even be argued that some of its ideas could have been made into an effective cinematic sequel".
Another review commented on how the game lost its previous tension and horror when other characters came into the scene, "Sadly, I felt the game lost all of its scariness, tension and general feeling of a film when other characters were involved. The Alien didn't move smoothly (at least when I saw it), and the other humans were terrible at conveying emotion".
Wired cited an interesting quote from a film critic of the 2003 Alien movie. The said film critic Roger Ebert stated, "At its most fundamental level, Alien is a movie about things that can jump out of the dark and kill you. One of [its] great strengths...is its pacing. It takes its time. It waits". Wired commented on the critic's quote stating, "It's as if Ebert anticipated Alien:Isolation, only in Create Assembly's version, you're both instigator and victim".
For those of you who are interested in playing the game, Alien:Isolation revolves around a character named Amanda, who happens to be looking for her lost Mother. To find a flight recorder of Nostromo, Amanda is sent to Sevastopol - a space station. She later discovers that the station was attacked by an Alien, killing most of the crew at the station.
