Prince Performance Live on 'Saturday Night Live' with 3rdEyeGirl, Watch 8-minute Jam Here (VIDEO)
Prince performed on "Saturday Night Live" last night (November 1) on NBC and was granted permission to do one epic eight-minute performance, instead of the typical two song format.
You can check out Prince and his band 3rdEyeGirl with their full SNL performance HERE.
He did not sing any solo classics, but rather brought his all female group, 3rdEyeGirl, to perform the medley of songs including "Clouds" with guest vocalist Lianne La Havas, "Marz" from the new 3rdEyeGirl album Plectrumelectrum and "Anotherlove" which showed off his impressive guitar playing ability.
You can always expect Prince to mix things up, so it was no surprise that he chose to change up the format. There was always the chance that they would still perform in a later time slot, even with the extended first slot, but unfortunately they did not perform again. This was Prince's first performance on "Saturday Night Live" since 2006 and first for 3rdEyeGirl on SNL.
Prince and 3rdEyeGirl was definitely the highlight of the show as many of the comedy skits fell flat even with Chris Rock returning to host.
SNL takes next week off and will return on November 15th with Hunger Games star Woody Harrelson and musical Kendrick Lamar.
NBC's long-running live comedy show "Saturday Night Live" has a low season last year in ratings and entertainment value. With the underwhelming seasons, the cast has also seen many key members leave the past few seasons including Kristen Wiig and Nasim Pedrad.
This was Prince's longest television performance since he did the Super Bowl halftime show in 2007.
