Manic Drive's VIP Hits #1 and Reveals Tour Dates
After a three year wait, Canadian Christian pop group Manic Drive has just released their new album "VIP." This week the title track has hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Christian Rock charts. The song made the impressive jump up from # 5 last week knocking LeCrae "Nuthin" out of the # 1 spot after just one week on top of the chart. The song has also made early gains on the Hot AC/CHR charts as well, just entering the Top 30.
Speaking exclusively with Hallels, this is what they have to say about the style of "VIP:" "Stylistically, the music carries familiar traits from our earlier releases. You'll still hear a fusion of Rock, Pop, funk and edgy Electronic Dance Music however, this release specifically has a more organic vibe. With our previous album "Epic", there was layers of programming, auto-tune effects, and more of a synth/keyboard driven style .Which was incredibly fun to orchestrate and write, but for this release we wanted to challenge ourselves to add more organic and acoustic instrumentation for "VIP". You'll even hear a banjo on this album."
The song "VIP" has quickly become a favorite of music directors and fans alike with its infectious melodies and solid message that we are all created unique and perfect in the eyes of God. Drew Hartney from the Effect Radio Network explains, "Manic Drive takes a walk on the red carpet, with the latest offering from the new album VIP! Manwell (of Group 1 Crew) joins in and helps push this track to 10! The title track isn't just full of energy it's full of truth, to God you are a VIP."
"We are so honored and humbled that radio has embraced VIP," states Shawn Cavallo, lead singer of the band. "So often we encounter teens on the road who are measuring their worth based on the talents of others. We so wanted to encourage people to know that they are special in the eyes of God. He made each of us with a unique purpose, and that is what we need to celebrate."
Along with their chart success, Manic Drive is excited to announce their addition to the Spring ACQUIRE THE FIRE line-up. In its 26-year history, Acquire the Fire has become a favorite of teens and youth leaders alike. A 27-hour, full-weekend themed Christian event, ATF is engineered to deliver the Gospel to young people in an immersive, entertaining, unique powerful way.
The theme for the Acquire the Fire Spring tour is "Resilient", a topic that Manic Drive knows well. Shawn continues, "We have been fans of Acquire the Fire since we were kids, so we are excited to be a part of these extraordinary events next year. This year's theme, "Resilient", seems so fitting as well. Teens face so much adversity day in and day out. We hope this message of staying true to our calling will inspire teens to step out in faith."
