Christian Hip Hop Artist Heath McNease Releases New Album "Among Thieves"
Hip hop Christian artist Heath McNease has just released his brand new acoustic project called "Among Thieves." The album is already up for sale right now.
Faith, nevertheless, is at the cynosure of everything he does, especially in his music. "My faith plays the most integral role in who i am as a person, songwriter, artist, and performer. I was raised on old gospel hymns in a small baptist church in the middle of the country. my musical and spiritual outlook continues to grow and shape itself, but i will never stray from the tried and true passion behind hymns. no matter what i'm doing...rapping, singing, or doing spoken word pieces...my goal is to connect with people on the same level as those hymns connected with me when i was just a kid. for me, i've always felt that the real moments when God showed up was when i was open to the moment. that's why i try to use the comedic and dramatic as a way of connecting with people...because we all open up to the moment in different ways."
About the project, McNease writes, "I'm so excited to send this email right now. Its getting close to the end of the year. People are going to be slowing down to spend more time with their families, and I will be doing the same. But not before I release one more project that I'm incredibly proud of.
"I've just uploaded an album that I wrote an entirely acoustic project over the last month called "Among Thieves." It is full of the most soul bearing stuff I've ever written. You might wonder why I would do something like this when I just released Fort Wayne the film and the album less than 6 weeks ago. I can't honestly say I have a good answer for that. I'm prone to create. I juste have a desire to make things when the inspiration strikes. I can't bring myself to be a "business man" and wait 6 months or a year to release things that mean everything to me. I want to take my time to craft them, and then I want to give them away to to the people that care. That's where you guys come in. My goal in recording this record was to draw focus to what I believe is maybe the best songwriter project I've ever made. My desire is that you guys will do a few things."
"For the next week...the album is on sale for 10 bucks on bandcamp. I hope that you will buy it obviously. Next week it will be free for everyone. My hope is that you guys will listen, love it, and share it. But I hope you won't stop there. My main desire in doing this was to continue to shine light on my film, Fort Wayne. If you guys would please continue to raise awareness by reaching out and telling everyone you know and love to check it out. Call, text, email, invite people over for a movie night...just share it with everyone. This project is just another piece of my heart and soul, and I am so grateful to call you guys my friends and supporters. I love you all so much, and I'm so excited to share Among Thieves with you!"
