Mike Simons Releases New EP "Great White Light"
Mike Simons is a singer/songwriter living and working in Raleigh, North Carolina. He serves at Vintage Church as a worship leader. Simons felt called to write this album in response to Jesus' goodness in his life.
He composed the six-track EP that includes original material written over the last two years while living in community and serving at Vintage. Mike started a Kickstarter campaign in fall 2014, with friends, neighbors, community group members, and folks at Vintage contributing to see him bring it to fruition. In October, he traveled to Nashville with Josh Bain, Worship Leader for Vintage Church Downtown, to record "Great White Light."
About the EP, Simons writes: "For years, I squandered my talents and wasted time pursuing self-inspired goals. But, through the cleansing of the Gospel, selfish ambition has been replaced with devotion to the Kingdom. My life is not my own. My gifts belong to Christ. My songs are destined to promote his glory alone."
The album was produced by Jason Burkum, engineered by Britt Edwards, and tracked at Center Street Recording Studios. The studio also produced a short video documenting the making of "The Joy of the Lord," one of the songs on the album. Album photography is by Geoff Wood Photography.
Tracklist:
1. The Joy of the Lord
2. Great White Light
3. The King Is on the Throne
4. If God Be for Us
5. Outlaw
6. Jesus
