The Collisons Release "He Made a Way"
The Collisons have ust released their new album "He Made a Way." The Collison family consists of Andy(Dad), Kelly(Mom), Buddy, Anthony, Andrea and Melissa.
Andy met Kelly while serving in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, NC. God began to reach Andy and Kelly in 2001 just after his honorable discharge from the USMC. Kelly and Andy both received Jesus Christ the summer of 2001. Soon after, Buddy, their oldest accepted Jesus and not long after began to sense a call to ministry. Anthony began to have an interest in music and is now an accomplished musician and proficient in guitar, bass, trumpet, euphonium, and percussion. Buddy and Anthony followed their father's footsteps and began a life in the Marine Corps. Anthony will enter the Marine Corps band in Quantico VA in the spring of 2011.
Tragically, in June of 2009, Buddy, who had been married just three weeks, while on his way to the Collison home for dinner, was in an accident which claimed his earthly life. The Collisons had been singing as a trio prior to this accident but the tragedy rocked the family to the core and is still experiencing an ongoing struggle. God has been with the family and helped them through the darkest year of their lives, but there was a struggle as to whether or not the group would continue.
During this time, God also showed them through a passage that their mission is to continue carrying on and spread the gospel. The passage in 2nd Timothy 4:2-5 jumped out at them as a charge from God, and also from their son. Preach the word, do the work of an evangelist, discharge the duties of your ministry. Since then, the family has devoted themselves to this ministry.
Only one thing can fix a tragedy such as this, and that is the return of Jesus. The Collisons long for his return, but realize that we, like all Christians, they have a job to do. Their first CD project, "Even So, Come" and the title song "Preach" is a testimony to their mission, "Even so come, but until he returns, Preach"
