Newsong, Plumb & Building 429 Embark on the "Very Merry Christmas Tour"
NewSong is set to bring their popular "Very Merry Christmas Tour"-one of Christian music's top holiday tours-to 15 cities around the country this year. Benefiting Feed The Children and featuring GRAMMY®-nominated pop/rockers Building 429* and best-selling singer/songwriter Plumb, as well as introducing Reno, the tour kicks-off December 2 in Atlanta.
Hitting Charleston, South Carolina; Marion, Illinois; and Panama City, Florida, among other cities, before concluding December 20 in Lakeland, Florida, the "Very Merry Christmas Tour" will feature original Christmas selections and beloved favorites from each artist, including NewSong's holiday classic, "The Christmas Shoes."
"The Christmas tour always proves to be one of the highlights of our year," said NewSong founding member Eddie Carswell. "It's a time to celebrate the Hope we've been given through Jesus' birth, and it will be an honor to lead audiences in worshipping Him with our friends Building 429 and Plumb during this special season."
With a career spanning more than 30 years, 19 albums, 20 #1 Christian radio singles, a #1 mainstream AC hit, a GRAMMY® Award-nomination and induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, among numerous other achievements, NewSong is one of the most respected artists and mentors in Christian music today. Their unparalleled ministry has been highlighted by such defining songs as "Arise, My Love," "Rescue," "The Same God," and the holiday favorite, "The Christmas Shoes." Founders and hosts of the blockbuster Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, which annually ranks among the top first-quarter tours in the world, NewSong has helped provide a powerful platform for the Gospel in major arenas around the country since 1995. The band's latest recording and second live worship set, Faithful (Integrity Music), debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan's Praise & Worship chart earlier this year, while their Faithful DVD-featuring video selections filmed during the live worship recording-was recently nominated for a Dove Award for Long Form Video of the Year.
GRAMMY®-nominated band Building 429 will release their new album, Unashamed, September 25 (Essential Records). Known as one of today's top artists due to their high-energy live shows, anthemic songs and constant message of hope through Christ, Building 429 is already making an impact with the album's first single, "Impossible," which made label history by receiving 95 radio adds on add date. Their previous project, We Won't Be Shaken, debuted at No.1 on Billboard'sChristian Albums chart and resulted in a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. The title track became a multi-week No. 1 hit and was nominated for a Billboard 2014 Music Award for Top Christian Song and K-LOVE 2014 Fan Awards in the Group or Duo of the Year category. Building 429's hit single "Where I Belong" was Billboard's 2012 Christian Song of the Year, Christian AC Song of the Year, Christian Songs Artist of the Year and Christian AC Songs Artist of the Year. The band first broke through with its 2004 No. 1 hit "Glory Defined," which was named BMI's Christian Song of the Year in 2005. That same year, Building 429 was recognized as New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
Throughout her decade-plus career as both a songwriter, recording artist and author, Plumb has found success in a myriad of genres, selling over half a million albums and 3 million singles worldwide. Since the miraculous restoration of her marriage (chronicled in the 2013 album Need You Now and corresponding memoir Need You Now: A Story of Hope), her new album Exhale is her most honest and worshipful album to date. Exhale boldly reflects Plumb's journey, returning to Christian music as her principle ministry and purpose.
