Joey + Rory Cancel All Concert Dates But Honor Utah Concert Dates
Recently Joey Feek (of Joey + Rory) has found out that her Stage IV cervical cancer has spread. Doctors have revealed that no chemotherapy would help. So, the couple have decided to stop all treatments and go home. As a result of such devstating news, Joey + Rory have cancelled all their 2015 Farmhouse Concerts. But they will honor their plans to perform at the 2015 Herber Valley Poetry Gathering in Herber City, Utah, with a little help from Rory Feek's daughter Heidi.
A note on the husband-and-wife duo's website, from their manager Aaron, explains that Heidi Feek will perform with her father in place of Joey Feek, who will remain at home in Tennessee.
Rory and Heidi Feek are scheduled to perform on Thursday (Oct. 29) at 7PM at Wasatch High School, on the main stage; on Friday (Oct. 30) at 10AM at the VIP Campfire Stage at Wasatch High School; and again on Friday (Oct. 30) at 6PM, at the Soldier Hollow Cowboy Dinner Show. More information is available on the festival's website.
"So, if you live near Salt Lake City or can make the trip there ... please come join Rory as he shares many songs and some heartfelt stories about the blessings and also the difficult struggles that have come Joey and his way," their manager's note reads. "... and while you're there, be sure to purchase a ticket to some of the other incredible acts performing this weekend as well. It is truly going to be a weekend to remember."
