William Michael Morgan Thanks the Good Lord After Being Spared from a Car Accident
Rising country music singer William Michael Morgan nearly died on a car accident on New Year's Day. Writing on his Facebook, the 21-year-old thanked the good Lord for preserving his life.
On Facebook, Morgan posted a picture of his wrecked car late Friday night with the caption, "Angels were watching me tonight. Thank you good lord. Thank you...." The image shows the singer's car with a crushed front end and another vehicle in the background which also took a beating.
The next day, he let fans know that is doing okay, besides it being difficult to walk on his left knee. "Thanks everyone for you sweet messages last night," Morgan writes on Facebook. "I'm going now to get all of my stuff out of the jeep ... Only thing wrong is its hard to walk on my left knee but I think time will heal that. all is well. Thank you Jesus."
Morgan is a committed Christian who grew up in the church singing old country songs and church music. But despite his age, the singer has already performed at the Grand Ole Opry on January 2nd, where he performed his new single "I Met a Girl." The song was actually written by AMA Favorite New Artist Sam Hunt, Old Dominion's Trevor Rosen, and accomplished country songwriter Shane McAnally.
In a culture of cheap romance and broken relationships, Morgan reaffirms what the Bible always teaches about strong and committed love. This is what Morgan's new song addresses: "She don't laugh at everything but when she does the planet swings around her/She don't step on sidewalks seams, her teenage boyfriends all still dream about her/She don't need the glitter of the vegas lights, she blow a kiss and leave it spinning' like a tilt-a-whirl.
I met a girl/She made me smile, she made me wait/She crossed the street, she crossed my heart/She fixed her dress, she bit her lip, she let me up
I met a girl with crazy shoes and baby blues/The way she moves is changing my whole world/I met a girl."
Morgan will head back out on Jan. 14 for a show in Oklahoma City, Okla., with dates running through Jan. 30 in Everglades City, Fla.
