Zach Loomis Releases "Captivate" Today
North Carolina native Zach Loomis releases his brand new debut album for Influence Music, entitled Captivate. The album drops today and it is available in stores as well as online.
The album's title track was co-written with acclaimed songwriter Stu G and is a worship anthem that celebrates the faithfulness of God. "For me, this song is about being captivated by who God is, how He keeps His promises, how He doesn't fail, He doesn't leave, He is constant," Zach continues. "How incredible it is to know, in this moment, the wonder and awe of that... I want to be captivated by God, not by the music or the songs or.... But by what he does in the moment."
Loomis grew up knowing that he wanted to be either a professional baseball player or a musician. "Once I came to the conclusion that my time in the majors was never going to happen, I knew I had one purpose and one calling," he recalls.
He was born in North Carolina and then like a vagabond, moved to whatever state his father, a pastor, would minister. Being a pastors kid had its challenges, like being at church all day and every night. But his siblings and him had great parents who supported them no matter what, including all of the awkward and goofy sounds he had made on the church instruments.
"Songwriting has always been my passion. When I'm able to take an idea that doesn't exist, translate it in to a sensible thought (most of the time), then a tangible song that people can connect and relate to - man. There's nothing is better than that.I'm excited to announce that I will be releasing new music this year. I've had the opportunity to work with some Christian music legends to craft and refine new songs. My hope is that these songs will speak to people where they are at and draw them closer to the One who created them."
Loomis is currently a worship leader and songwriter from Cleveland Ohio based out of Journey Community Church.
