Ben Tankard Wins 14th Career Stellar Award
Gospel/Jazz instrumentalist Ben Tankard won his first Stellar Gospel Music Award as New Artist of The Year in 1989. With an incredible career span of three decades, the musical pioneer has earned the title of "Godfather of Gospel Jazz" and earned his fourteenth Stellar Award over the weekend in Las Vegas, NV.
Tankard took home the honor for Best Instrumental CD of the Year for his FULL TANK 2.0 album. Thousands gathered at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on February 20 to experience the live taping of gospel music's highest honors. The 31st Annual Stellar Awards Show will air internationally on TVOne March 6-10 (check local listings for times).Tankard released FULL TANK 2.0 on his own BEN-Jamin' Universal Music label and has earned multiple gold/platinum records as well as a wall of Stellar, Dove, and Grammy awards and nominations for his soulful, classic and SmoothJazz artistry.
The former NBA player is indeed a trendsetter as a celebrity endorser for the cutting edge fashion designer Robert Graham and a licensed private pilot who flies to all his concerts, conferences and speaking events on his own airplanes.Stellar Awards week was also the announcement launch pad for Tankard's new forthcoming self-help book The Full Tank Life: Fuel Your Dreams, Ignite Your Destiny (releases August 2016 on Hachette Publishing) and the long awaited season 3 of the hit Bravo TV reality series: Thicker Than Water: The Tankards which is set to premier on Easter Sunday night, March 27 at 10pm EST / 9pm CST on Bravo.
