Mr. Del Talks About Creating a Soundtrack for Love Via "Love Noize"
Mr. Del is poised to launch his ninth studio album, entitled Love Noize, on March 16, 2016. God's anointed Hip Hop Apostle doesn't disappoint as he continues to share the Word in a non-traditional way that draws young people closer to Christ. Described as the place where soul meets trap house music with a Gospel hip-hop twist, Love Noize will have listeners bobbing their heads while they receive messages about God's love, self-love and loving others. The lyrics are strong enough to penetrate the soul, but edgy enough to catch the attention of young audiences everywhere.
Hallels: Congratulations on the release of your new album "Love Noize." How would you describe the sound on this record?
Thank you fam! You know it's funny because I've always been known for that memphis southern crunk sound but this record i wanted to mix that with a memphis soul sound. hence the name Love Noize. The whole record is talking about love but one side has a noise sound and the other a soulful sound.
Hallels: Who are some of the artists and musicians you have worked on for this new album?
My Holy South family Murk, Kane-n-Able, & Fro. My brother and purpose partner Canton Jones, Uncle Reece, Britne' Brown, Carla Barnes, & Stephani McCoy.
Hallels: I read in your press release that "Love Noize" is a concept album, which functions as a soundtrack for love. What are some aspects of love addressed in this record?
I speak about 3 Facets. Love for God, Love for Self, & Love for others. I feel like the world is in a period where uncut love needs (Jesus) needs to be amplified. Again hence "LoveNoize" it's a soundtrack and a appeal to love out loud.
Hallels: "Love Noize" is the last in the trilogy in the Faith, Hope, Love album series. What are some lessons you hope listeners will grasp after listening to these three albums?
That being a believer takes intentional action. And faith, hope, and love are the components we need to study to be able to do this thing called life ya dig?! This series represents the closing of one chapter for me and the beginning of another so it possesses all the experience i have gained walking with God in the past 16 yrs.
Hallels: Is there a new single release off "Love Noize" yet? If so, tell us more about it.
You know I usually let my fans pick the single. And that usually happens after 3 months of the record coming out. I believe in giving the people what they want to hear. They get enough forced music. But if I had to guess it would be "Gangsta Gospel" that song is just classic Mr. Del. It talks about how my approach to ministry is similar to the same aggression I had in the streets. It's a banger! One of my favorites on the album.
Hallels: I believe you are also planning an urban youth conference. Tell us more about this conference.
Yes that represents the next chapter i was speaking of earlier. I am planning an evangelistic ministry and tour called Revolt. And it's speaking of young people revolting against the plans of the devil's kingdom and representing God's. I feel that there is such a presence in the media today to sin and live a Godless life. And the culture is becoming very dark and Satanic. So I plan on giving the youth another option which is the best one and the only one in my book which is Jesus Christ.
Hallels: For our readers who would like to find out more about the conference oryour new music or youself, where can they go?
My website mrdel.com and I'm on social media @mrdel and @mrdel10
