Duawne Starling Appears on TBN "Praise the Lord"
Duawne Starling's impeccable vocals have provided a stunning background for countless music legends including Donnie McClurkin, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Nicole Mullen, Michael W. Smith, Sandi Patti, Patti Austin, Dolly Parton, Michael McDonald and the greatest of all time: Michael Jackson. Hands down, Starling is one of the most talented, consistent and respected vocalists in Gospel music. Now, after years as a background singer, he has the ultimate step out as a solo artist.
Starling has known for a long time that it is God's will for him to share his gift with the world. He doesn't desire to be in the spotlight inasmuch as he desires to be obedient to what he is called to do. Starling and his family would escape a potentially devastating house fire, and then find themselves in a terrible car accident as the result of a drunk driver, before the album was finally recorded. Duawne Starling gives his powerful testimony of clinging to God during these and even more of his life's trials when he appears on TBN Tuesday, April 5. He also performs new music from his album, Deeper Faith, which was recorded live at Bridgeway Community Church in Columbia, Maryland.
"The thing about faith, deep faith, is it does not make sense," says Starling. "If you can see it, taste it, hear it or feel it, it isn't faith. That is what God has taught me through all that he has brought me through." All of the songs on Deeper Faith did not start out as songs. They were not written as songs. They were part of me writing cathartically and crying out to God as I was faced with personal trial after personal trial. Deeper Faith was inspired by God's persistence in Starling's life. "He spared my life many, many times" says the singer. "My gratitude for that is captured on this album."
TBN's "Praise the Lord" April 5th at 10 p.m. EST and again April 6th at 5 p.m. EST. Duawne Starling's Deeper Faith is available on iTunes, Amazon Music and other digital outlets.
