Watch Kari Jobe & Hillsong UNITED Perform "Oceans" at OUTCRY 2016
At a recent OUTCRY concert, Grammy nominated CCM singer/songwriter Kari Jobe filled in for Taya Smith as she joined members of Hillsong UNITED in singing their #1 hit "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)." In 2015 God made it clear that OUTCRY was to be a tour. And the momentum built. Many churches and worship artists joined OC on the road and God did amazing things. 120,000 attended. Thousands gave their lives to Jesus. And arenas were filled with the sound of the church singing to Jesus.
"So I had the great honor of filling in for the beautiful Taya Smith to sing 'Oceans' on tour this week while she was getting well," Jobe shared. "I have been impacted by Hillsong Worship since I was young and I am so thankful for all they have done to pour into me from a young girl until now. They've become family...Thanks for letting me sing my favorite worship song with you...and I'm thankful you're well now Taya."
"Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" was released on 10 September 2013 as Hillsong United's second single from their album, Zion. In the United States, the song spent 48 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, starting in December 2013, and was the top song of 2014 on the chart. An EP, Oceans, includes the album, radio, Red Rocks live, and remix versions of this song. Taya Smith performs the lead vocals. On 30 September 2014, a Spanish version of the song, also sung by Smith, was released to digital retailers. The album edit of the song appeared on the compilations, WOW Worship Lime and WOW Hits 2015.
