Beckah Shae Releases Her New Album "Mighty" on July 15
On Friday July 15, Beckah Shae releases her brand new album "Mighty." The album is described as her "throwback" album where she engages with a 1950s & 60s doo wop with the mix of modern R&B, pop & funk. The songs are filled with live horns, organs, tambourines, and pianos.
"It's definitely one of the most fun projects I've made because there's so much life and joy in each and every song," Shae confesses.
"This is just one of those seasons where I'm longing for that sound that's uplifting and that's going to make me happy. I want to hear the sound of hope. With everything that's going on right now in the world, I just feel like we need this sound. It might sound a little less serious, but in no way am I compromising substance. I want to see people smile and I want to see people clapping and just be reminded of our source of strength and our source of security, because this is where our joy comes from. I'm a believer that when you laugh and smile despite the circumstances around you, you are making one of the most powerful declarations of victory that you can make. We made a creative turn and mixed it up and I can't wait for you to have this."
The album was funded mostly by her fans via Kickstarter for which Shae is thankful. "We are beyond grateful for everyone's generosity and support! I just recorded the last song on the album last night and it's one of my favorites! "
For nearly ten years, soulful singer/songwriter Beckah Shae's been steadily gaining momentum, establishing her very own Shae Shoc Records with her husband/constant production collaborator Jack Shocklee and turning in eight studio CDs. Along the way, she's racked up top 10 Billboard Christian CHR radio singles like "I'll Be Alright", "Here In This Moment" and "LIFE," scored a Dove nomination for the latter gem, served as a featured guest on tobyMac's Billboard blockbuster Tonight album, collaborated with fellow multi-million album seller Montell Jordan on his latest Victory World Music project Shake Heaven and is also gearing up for two appearances on Dove Award winning rap luminary T-Bone's upcoming album.
