Sarah Reeves Signs with Word Records
After years as an independent artist, singer and songwriter Sarah Reeves' dream came true when she signed a recording deal with Word Entertainment. Brimming with excitement, Reeves shared the good news via social media this week: "Today was a dream come true. I signed a record deal with Word Records after a long road of being independent. I'm beyond honored to have this team around me. I'll be going into the studio this month to record so come along with me on this journey as I'll be posting more videos in the process."
This deal came after a time of waiting upon God. Reeves testifies: "It's been a season of surrendering to the process. The process where God does a work in me before He can do a work through me. In the surrender, I learned to trust. I learned to stop striving and to rest in His promise. All while, fixing my gaze on Him and nothing else. I had no clue where I was going or what my future held. I honestly thought my time as an artist was done and I would settle being a songwriter. But Holy Spirit whispered to me last year that He wasn't done with me yet. In fact, it was just the beginning. And then I watched Him open doors that I could have never opened on my own. So here's to a new season, a new journey, new music and really I feel like a new me because God has done so much in my heart. I can't wait to share this project with you!"
Reeves' music career started in 2006, with her first major-label release, Sweet Sweet Sound, an extended play, that was released on April 21, 2009, from Sparrow Records. This extended play was her breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, where it placed on the Christian Albums at No. 19 and the Heatseekers Albums at No. 8. The song, "Sweet Sweet Sound", peaked at No. 27 on the Christian Songs chart, while it peaked at No. 24 on the Christian AC Songs chart.
Her subsequent extended play, God of the Impossible, was released on April 20, 2010, with Sparrow Records. The first studio album, Broken Things, was released on July 26, 2011. She released, Christmas, a independently-made extended play, in 2013. Her second studio album, Acoustic Worship Covers, was released on March 2014
