Dolly Parton Aiming for Her First No. 1 Album in 25 Years

Veteran artist Dolly Parton is set to score her #1 album with "Pure and Simple" on Billboard Country Albums chart next week.  Her latest set has sold around 20,000 copies and it looks like it will land at the #1 position next week.  The last time Parton scored a #1 country lbum was in 1991 with her album Eagle When She Flies.

In total, Parton has racked up six No. 1s on the Top Country Albums chart. She also topped the list with Trio (Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris), 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, Heartbreaker, Here You Come Again and New Harvest... First Gathering. 

Dolly Parton, the most honored female country performer of all time, has received 25 RIAA certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards and landed 25 songs at number 1 on the Billboard Country charts. She has 41 career top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, and she has 110 career charted singles over the past 40 years. All-inclusive sales of singles, albums, hits collections, paid digital downloads and compilation usage during her Hall of Fame career have topped a staggering 100 million records worldwide.
