Worthy Media Group Launches New Live Events Division, Brings on J. David Huffman to Lead Efforts
The Worthy Media Group, parent of Worthy Publishing, is pleased to announce the launch of Worthy Live Events. J. David Huffman, an experienced live event and marketing professional, has come on board to serve as Vice President of this ambitious new division.
Byron Williamson, president and CEO of Worthy Media, said, "Worthy's book imprints publish in print, audio and eBook formats, which means Worthy is a content business. And today content is expressed in a variety of ways beyond print - from movies and documentaries to online streaming programs and compelling live event experiences."
"I'm thrilled to be on the team at Worthy," said Huffman. "Worthy Live Events is already in development on two nationwide tours to be launched during the next year. We're going to be combining in-demand speakers and artists to create transformative and memorable experiences."
"David is a proven event promotion and marketing specialist with a strong background in sponsor development and support," said Williamson. "He has a track record for developing remarkable event experiences." Most recently, Huffman produced and promoted World Vision's Fight Night marriage seminars featuring Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott, in conjunction with Mike Atkins Entertainment. Other author clients have included best sellers Angela Thomas, Ted Dekker, and Max Lucado.
One of Huffman's most notable achievements was an industry-changing corporate sponsorship between Third Day and Chevrolet from 2002 to 2006. This partnership led to growth beyond the expectations of both brands, including opportunities for both Third Day and Chevrolet to participate in community-driven efforts during the devastating events of Hurricane Katrina.
As a co-owner of Creative Trust, Huffman managed music artists Steven Curtis Chapman and Third Day. He also worked with such organizations as Fox Entertainment, LifeWay Stores, World Vision, Salem, Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan's Purse, Show Hope, and Wycliffe.
