'The Voice' NBC Season 6 Team Usher T.J. Wilkins Exit Interview, Watch Here (VIDEO)
"The Voice" Season 6 on NBC cut the competition down to the Top 10 last Tuesday night. Unfortunately, Team Usher's T.J. Wilkins was one of the two contestants that got sent home along with Team Shakira's Dani Moz. T.J. sat down with NBC and did an exit interview before leaving the show and shared about his experiences on the popular show, his relationship with his coach, Usher, and the tremendous growth he has experienced (watch video above).
T.J. was asked what was going through his mind during the instant save fire minutes and as you were performing your save song? He responded, "I was trying to find my phone number one so I could tweet! (Laughs) And then, probably the next thought that went through my mind was, "Okay, I'm in the bottom three. Number one, don't panic. And then, number two, how do you do a great show even though the situation seems unfavorable? How do you still give the people something to remember you by? I immediately started planning my strategy and that took precedence over any other thought. Just cause I'm so invested. Definitely planning my strategy was the main thought."
All three singers for Team Adam and Team Blake moved on to next week. Team Shakira had two of her contestants move on to next week in Tess Boyer and Kristen Merlin, Dani Moz did not make it and will head home. Team Usher had two singers move on in Bria Kelly and Josh Kaufman, with T.J. Wilkins going home.
Adam Levine (Team Adam) is coming off of winning last season (Season 5) and has a very strong team this year so far. Blake Shelton (Team Blake) won three seasons in a row (Seasons 2-4) and is looking to win back the crown. Newcomers Usher (Team Usher) and Shakira (Team Shakira) are on their second season of the show after both being on Season 4. They are both looking for their first win as a part of the hit singing competition.
You can watch "The Voice" on NBC on Monday/Tuesday nights at 8/7c.
