2017 in Preview: 7 Most Anticipated Christian Music Releases
With 2016 coming to a close, let's take a look at 7 of the albums we're most anticipating for 2017 -- some with set titles and dates, some still whispers in the wind without official confirmation, but all reasons that 2017 should be just as big as 2016.
7. Keith & Kristyn Getty "Getty Kids Hymnal - In Christ Alone" (Feb 24)
The Getty Kids Hymnal- In Christ Alone features twelve hymns, old and new, sung by kids and for kids! Includes memorable, sing-along versions of "Living Waters," "The Wondrous Mystery," "Lift High The Name Of Jesus," and more.
6. Cece Winans -- "Let Them Fall in Love" (Feb 3)
Grammy-winning Gospel and R&B star CeCe Winans returns with her first new material since the 2008 bestseller Thy Kingdom. This ten song set, co-written and produced by her son Alvin Love III, pairs traditional Gospel themes with contemporary sounds and styles. Let Them Fall In Love includes the moving lead single "Never Have To Be Alone" plus "Hey Devil!" (featuring the Clark Sisters), "Dancing In The Spirit" (with the Love Fellowship Choir), "Marvelous," and more.
5. Bill and Gloria Gaither "Give the World a Smile" (Feb 24)
Join Bill, Gloria, and the Homecoming Friends for a stirring live concert of cherished hymns and southern gospel classics. Features performances by The Gaither Vocal Band, Lynda Randle, Bradley Walker, and others.
4. MercyMe - Lifer (March 3)
MercyMe band members recently shared updates on social media from the studio. It is far too early to know the details of the new album. In the meantime, catch MercyMe live in concert on their Spring 2016 tour with Citizen Way and Zealand Worship.
3. Kari Jobe -- "The Garden" (Feb 3)
GRAMMY-nominated and renowned worship leader Kari Jobe will release her third studio album titled The Garden on February 3, 2017. This album follows the highly acclaimed live project Majestic that produced the hit single "Forever" and "I Am Not Alone." The Garden was written and recorded during a season of pain and loss for Jobe's family.
2. Reba McEntire -- "Sing It Now: Songs of Hope and Faith" (Feb 3)
Reba McEntire's first-ever gospel album drops on Feb. 3, and a look between the lines reveals so much about the project. Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope is filled with today's top songwriters, and features a previously recorded gospel song by one of country's top male vocalists.
1. Darlene Zschech -- "Here I Am, Send Me" (March 3)
Join Darlene Zschech for an uplifting live worship concert from Hope Unlimited Church. Here I A Send Me showcases a moving collection of original worship offerings, co-written with Martin Smith, Jenn Johnson, Paul Baloche, and Leeland Mooring. This is the follow-up to her 2013 "Revealing Jesus" which features "Victor's Crown" and "In Jesus' Name." Released again by Integrity Music, these new songs will become future worship classics just like many of Zschech's songs with Hillsong Worship such as "Shout to the Lord," "The Potter's Hands" and "At the Cross."
