INTERVIEW: The Cathedrals Share on Their Upcoming Reunion Shows & Revamped Line Up
The legendary gospel group The Cathedrals are reuniting with a revamped line up for several shows in 2014-15. We would like to thank them for taking the time to speak with us.
Hallels: Tell us more about your upcoming Reunion Shows?
"The Cathedral Family Reunions are unique in that they are completely exclusive. These are the only events that you can see these alumni guys come together on stage to perform those Cathedral Classics. In addition to the great programming, you also get to see some of the most popular artist in our industry today perform as their current makeup of groups. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Greater Vision, Mark Trammell Quartet and Legacy Five.
Hallels: What special guest will be joining you for the tour dates?
"Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Greater Vision, Mark Trammell Quartet, Legacy Five, Danny Funderburk as well as some "surprise appearances"
Hallels: What can fans expect to see at your upcoming Reunion shows?
"This is a 2 day, 3 session event that the fans will get to hear some of the best our industry has to offer with some of the most popular artist. They will have the feeling as though they are attending a "Cathedrals Concert" with special surprise production elements and special effects. The fans will also get to tour the original touring bus of the Cathedrals and walk thru a room set up with memorabilia of the late Cathedrals. One of the most popular moments of the weekend is when the original alumni gentlemen of the Cathedrals pull up a stool and talk about the "road stories" from their time touring with Glen and George!"
Hallels: Who decided to get these reunion shows together and make them happen?
"This was a collaboration of ideas initiating with the president of IMC, Landon Beene in a discussion with Ernie Haase about the Cathedrals. Aside from operating one of the largest gospel promotion companies today, he was and IS one of the biggest fans of the Cathedrals."
Hallels: For those who don't know, who are all of the members singing for the Cathedrals reunion shows?
"Ernie Haase, Gerald Wolfe, Scott Fowler, Danny Funderburk, Mark Trammell"
Hallels: Are you guys going to be recording any new music along with the reunion shows?
"Yes, we have already recording one major CD release that includes several Cathedral favorites as well as one original song. Discussions are happening now for a sophomore release of CFR including all original material!"
Hallels: Do you have a current scripture that has been speaking to you? Or a personal favorite verses of yours?
"Proverbs 3:5-6"
