New Faith-Based Movie "Canal Street" Announces Cast and Director
Red Guerilla Entertainment announced today that production for indie film 'CANAL STREET' has commenced. Bryshere Y. Gray (EMPIRE), Yancey Arias (QUEEN OF THE SOUTH), Lance Reddick (JOHN WICK), Katie Chang (BLING RING) Jamie Hector (BOSCH), and Kevin Quinn (BUNK'D) head the cast in the film and have joined together to tell this heart-filled, enthralling, timely story.
Directed, co-written and Produced by Rhyan LaMarr (RESTORED ME) the film is shooting in Chicago, Illinois.
Canal Street is a story about the majority and the frivolous reasons for the deep-seated divisions within it. It's a beautiful look at the diversity of chicago told through the gritty lense of society. Aided by a universal soundtrack under the leadership of Grammy Award Winning Record Executive Amir Windom (DESPICABLE ME 2, COLLATERAL BEAUTY) that will set the appetite tapping in unison, it sets the table for a much-needed national discussion by appealing to themes of family, friendship, and forgiveness through its multi-cultural ensemble and genre-spanning music. In 2017, America needs a hard detour. Canal Street offers forgiveness. It's what the majority truly wants, and what will keep the fearful a minority.
"Canal Street is a visual and emotional tour guide that will challenge your perspective through every character and ultimately inspire you to stop waiting on change to happen to you but rather through you." - Executive Producer, Kevin Mullens
The ensemble cast of 'CANAL STREET' also includes Woody McClain (NEW EDITION), Sharon Leal (SUPER GIRL), Harry Lennix (THE BLACKLIST), Jon Seda (CHICAGO PD), Will Yun Lee (TRUE BLOOD), Michael Beach ( PATRIOTS DAY) and Giovanni Watson (RESTORED ME).
The film is executive produced by Christopher Jennings, Dr. Eric Garnes, Kevin Mullens, Yancey Arias and Rhyan LaMarr. The film is produced by Amir Windom, Adam Key, Charlie Mac, Chris Jamerson, Anita Luckett, Ronique Shaw and Reggie Hunter.
