John Schlitt Launches Syndicated Classic Christian Rock Radio Show 'Live It Loud'
Few recording artists have had the impact and influence on the contemporary Christian music genre as Grammy and Dove Award-winning GMA Hall of Famer John Schlitt. The legendary vocalist has never shied away from living his faith out loud. Now Schlitt is embracing a new adventure by launching his innovative syndicated radio show, Live it Loud, available for free to all terrestrial and internet radio stations as of Friday, March 10, 2017.
The show will feature Schlitt's unique perspective on songs from the early days of Christian rock, along with exclusive interviews with the songwriters and performers who championed the music that changed a generation for Christ.
The new show is being syndicated to radio through the NRT Radio Syndication Network.
"When we first heard of the opportunity to work with John Schlitt, our answer was immediately 'yes,'" says Kevin McNeese, director of the NRT Radio Syndication Network. "John has decades of experience in the industry and brings unmatched energy and passion to any conversation he's engaged in. To hear him sit down and talk with other creatives that have had tremendous impact on Christian music's history is going to be a special treat, week in and week out. We're honored to be bringing his show to radio and add Live It Loud to our growing catalog of quality, free programming for radio."
Each hour-long episode of Live It Loud will include a mix of classic Christian rock songs, along with interviews from the artists and writers who created them. Schlitt will also offer a brief devotion and share a story about a person or organization that is "living it loud" for the Kingdom.
Billy Smiley, producer, songwriter and co-founder of the seminal Christian rock band, Whiteheart, is slated as the show's first guest. Subsequent shows will feature such pioneering artists as Phil Keaggy, Rick Cua, John Elefante, Eddie Degarmo, Bob Farrell, Petra's John Lawry and Bob Hartman, and more.
"It's great to be part of a ministry like this," says Schlitt. "I'm excited to honor those who paved the way for the next generation of Christian artists, and to introduce a new generation to some of the greatest rock music on the planet! And I say the music is great, because the message in these songs actually has the power to change people's lives."
Stations can sign up to air Live It Loud for free as of Friday, March 10, 2017, at nrtsyndication.com.
