Delta Spirit New Album 'Into The Wide' Releasing September 2014, Watch Teaser & See Tracklist (VIDEO)
Dualtone Records, Delta Spirit have announced that they will be releasing their fourth studio album, Into the Wide, this Fall on September 9th. They posted a video teaser for their fans last week, directed by Matt Vasquez, to give them a peek into the new album, watch video above.
Into the Wide comes after 2012′s self-titled album and recorded in Atlanta this time around. "That sense of feeling trapped in our studio and in the city definitely gave the album more of a weight than our previous records," said multi-instrumentalist Kelly Winrich. "It played a big part in this being our moodiest recording yet."They worked with producer Ben Allen (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Cut Copy).
They focused on making an album that would sound like their live show experience. "We just want the songs to be as epic and meaningful as possible when we play them in front of people, which is the be-all and end-all for us as a band," said singer-guitarist Matt Vasquez. Delta Spirit formed in 2005 and released their first recording I Think I've Found It EP in 2006. Since then, they have released Ode to Sunshine (2008), History from Below (2010), Waits Room EP (2010) and Delta Spirit (2012).
