Darwin Hobbs to Release New Single "Call The Name Of Jesus" September 1st!
For many, just hearing the name Darwin Hobbs is enough to send chills down the spine. His lush, supple tenor is unmistakable and has given fans of Gospel music some of the most amazing moments of the genre.
While Hobbs stepped away from the recording booth for a few years to focus on his personal healing, his family, and his ministry as a worship pastor, he returns to the masses on September 1st with the release of "Call the Name of Jesus". The single will be available everywhere digital music is sold. "Call the Name of Jesus" is released on HeartArt Music, the label started by Hobbs and his wife Traci and reunites the artist with producer Aaron Lindsey.
"I had been singing this song in worship service for a while, it is totally befitting considering all that our society is facing," says Hobbs. "The message is clear, those who know Jesus need to call on Him and call on Him fervently."
The song has received early support from radio, including Erica Campbell, who is premiering "Call the Name of Jesus" nationally on Friday.
Darwin Hobbs will be a special guest psalmist Sunday, September 3rd, at Word of Faith Family Worship Center in the Atlanta, Georgia area. "Darwin Hobbs' new single inspires your heart to worship", says Bishop Dale Bronner, founder and senior pastor of Word of Faith Family Worship Center.
Hobbs will minister at churches around the country throughout the fall.
In the late 90s, Darwin Hobbs was signed to EMI Gospel Records (now Motown Gospel). He released seven solo albums, each solidifying his status as a "singer's singer" who always delivers an atmosphere-shifting music and worship experience. After leaving EMI, Hobbs released Champion: Live through a joint venture deal with Universal Music. That album won a Stellar Gospel Music Award for Praise & Worship CD of the Year. Hobbs is known, respected and appreciated for his ability to create a worship experience that literally changes lives and impacts the overall worship "culture" of the church. He has served as Worship Pastor and/or Creative Director at some of the country's largest, most progressive churches.
Currently, Hobbs is Creative Arts Consultant and Worship Leader at the 38,000 member Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York, and also Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship in Cincinnati, Ohio. "One of the largest assignments on my life is to perpetuate a concept that I call Heart Art," says Hobbs. "This is a process of training and developing both the heart and art of worship within the local church." Hobbs believes the most effective worshippers are those who are intentional about perfecting both the heart, through intimate relationship with the FATHER, and the art (music) of worship.
