StowTown Artists Honored by Fans at Singing News Fan Awards Show
The fans have spoken and the winners have been announced at the annual Singing News Fan Awards in Pigeon Forge, TN. Three StowTown artists were honored with wins in various categories. Triumphant led with three wins for Favorite Traditional Quartet, Favorite Song for "Living in the Promised Land" and Favorite Bass Singer for Eric Bennett. "It is truly an honor to have those you sing in front of throughout the year write your name down or circle your name on a ballot," said group member Scotty Inman. "We are blown away and grateful for their continued support and confidence in our ministry."
The Collingsworth Family was honored by fans as Favorite Mixed Group, and Kim Collingsworth was voted Favorite Musician. "Both The Collingsworth Family as a group and Kim Collingsworth as a musician are honored and humbled by the awards bestowed on us today by the subscribers of the Singing News," group patriarch Phil Collingsworth stated. "Awards are not our motivation for doing what we do, but are like a surprise hot fudge sundae, with whipped cream and a cherry on top! We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for the song He puts in our hearts and are certainly enjoying the assignment He has given us in His great big Kingdom. Thank you so much for the love poured out on our family. We LOVE you directly in return."
Favorite New Artist award was presented to trio Cana's Voice. Cana's Voice is comprised of artists TaRanda Greene, Jody McBrayer and Doug Anderson. Collectively, they wrote, "We were able to attend the Singing News Fan Awards with the intent to support our friends and colleagues in the Southern Gospel Industry, but it turned out we were honored with the support and favor to be voted New Artist of the Year! We realize that our music is not traditional southern gospel, so to have the support of the southern gospel industry is overwhelming and very appreciated!"
While StowTown artists have been honored by industry professionals, these awards are unique in that they are voted on entirely by fans. StowTown owner Landon Beene summed it up, "I'm thrilled with the results of the Singing News Fan Awards and couldn't be more proud of our artists. Our company takes pride in pushing our artists to be forward thinking in their lyric content, imaging and, most importantly, to be intentional in their overall spiritual goals for this music ministry. The results speak clearly that the fans are ready for this progression. The fans have voted and responded with favor to the artists of StowTown Records!"
