‘Fuller House’ Star Candace Cameron-Bure On Las Vegas Shooting, “God’s Heart Breaks With Ours”
‘Fuller House’ actress Candace Cameron-Bure opened up about the tragic shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday by sharing words of support from the Bible.
The shooting incident, which is now deemed the deadliest of its kind in recent U.S. history, left 59 people dead and over 500 others injured. While the horrific circumstances have left everyone with heavy hearts, Bure reposted a photo, quoting John 16:33 from the Bible.
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world," the verse states.
Last Sunday night, suspected gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Hotel on a concert festival being held outdoors. Country music star Jason Aldean had only finished performing five songs at the Route 91 Harvest Festival when his set was interrupted. Many concertgoers initially thought the loud sounds were being caused by “fireworks,” but soon discovered that it was from Paddock’s rapid gunfire.
Bure, known for openly expressing her Christian beliefs, shared words of encouragement for the victims, their families, and other people having worries about such unfortunate circumstances.
"Oh Lord... Evil doesn't take God by surprise. He knows we will suffer in this lifetime and His heart breaks with ours," the 41-year-old actress wrote on Facebook.
The Los Angeles native also offered a reminder that God will prevail and suffering will only be temporary.
"But He's also still sitting tall on His throne, not pacing back and forth nervously. He's already won. He's already overcome. The evils we endure in this world are indeed painful...but they are temporary," Bure further wrote.
The mother-of-three finally concluded her post with her prayer intentions while adding hashtags, such as #prayforvegas and #prayforlasvegas. "With a broken heart for the lives lost and the families and friends affected by this tragedy, I pray with very few words. But, I rejoice because God hears our prayers and holds us all tightly in His grip,” she wrote.
