Pink Drops Seventh Album 'Beautiful Trauma' Featuring New Collaboration with Eminem
In just a single week, pop singer Pink dropped the details of another set of performances in Australia and, later on, performed with legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses at Madison Square Garden and made a guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night TV show.
Pink had been preparing for the release of “Beautiful Trauma,” her seventh studio album, as noted by Billboard. The singer-songwriter co-wrote all of the 13 songs on the LP, which includes “Revenge” featuring rapper Eminem and “What About Us,” a previously-released song. Multiple producers and songwriters, such as Max Martin, Steve Mac, and Johnny McDaid, to name a few, helped in coming up with “Beautiful Trauma.”
On her latest album, Pink touches on broken hearts, fear, anxiety, and many more of her traditional themes. Clean-cut highly detailed productions that showcase her powerful vocals are offered on “Beautiful Trauma,” taking up R&B, hip-hop, rock, and folk.
Pink revealed how her collaboration with Eminem on “Revenge” happened despite sharing a song before.
"I sneak-attacked him," she told Entertainment Weekly. "[Producer] Max [Martin] and I started making ['Revenge'], and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea."
Later on, she decided to contact the Detroit native and asked him to take part in the track.
"I emailed [Eminem],” the mother-of-two continued. “This is why they call it liquid courage. And I said, ‘You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me.’ It was this long email, and he wrote back right away and just said, ‘Okay.'"
Pink and Eminem previously collaborated on the song, “Won’t Back Down,” from Shady's album ‘Recovery,’ released in 2010.
Pink’s “Beautiful Trauma” is now available on RCA Records.
