Incubus Working on New Music Shares Guitarist Mike Einziger
It has been a few years now since rock band Incubus has released new music with their last album If Not Now, When releasing in 2011. However, there is good news for Incubus fans as guitarist Mike Einziger spoke with Radio.com sharing that he and singer Brandon Boyd have been working on new Incubus tunes quietly and hope to release an album in 2015.
"You know everybody's got a lot of things going on but we're slowly bringing out focus back to the band and everybody's excited about it because we've had enough time away from it to where it's exciting for everyone," he told them. "There's definitely some really great stuff coming."
"Our plan as of now," he said, "is put new music out probably early enough in the year that we would be set up to go out and do full touring in the summertime of next year."
Einziger hasn't been taking time away from music while Incubus has been on break, he has been busy working on music with artists like Avicii, Pharrell and Hans Zimmer.
Einziger will be playing at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this weekend, performing with Skrillex's SuperJam along with Zedd, Damian Marley, Janelle Monae, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Mickey Hart, Chance The Rapper, Warpaint, Thundercat and Big Gigantic.
"It's a really great group of different musicians," shares Einziger about the Bonnaroo set. "We're playing a lot of different music. The setlist is crazy."
Incubus formed in California in 1991 and have released seven full length albums: Fungus Amongus (1995), S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (1997), Make Yourself (1999), Morning View (2001), A Crow Left of the Murder... (2004), Light Grenades (2006) and If Not Now, When? (2011).
