Listen to Israel Houghton's Brand New Song "Promise Keeper" (Featuring Travis Green) Here
Worship leader and songwriter Israel Houghton has launched his new album's second single, "Promise Keeper," featuring Travis Greene. The song is taken from Houghton's highly anticipated album, Road To DeMaskUs.
Celebrating the faithfulness of God, Houghton and Greene sing:
Promise Keeper, You will never fail
Your love is true
Promise Keeper, You deliver
On Your word
And I will trust You
Road To DeMaskUs will release in September and is available for pre-order on September 7th. Road To DeMaskUs is a nod to the popular Biblical tale of the Apostle Paul's journey of transformation. The title displays an intentionally creative spelling as it encourages the removal of all the "masks" we find ourselves wearing in life. Whether we are masking our emotions, or masking our authentic selves, Houghton is passionate about reminding people that God's love is not based upon who we are pretending to be. Rather, it is present & available for us exactly as we are. Houghton's prayer is that this album becomes a tool to help de-mask us.
Last month, Houghton announced the Road To DeMaskUs Tour, which will kick off on September 27th in conjunction with the new album. The tour will begin in Chicago and make stops in twelve cities including New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Detroit.
A world-renowned artist, producer, and songwriter whose career spans over two decades, Houghton just received a GMA Dove Award nomination for Spanish Language Album of the Year as a producer for Lucía Parker's, Revive.
The longer I live the more I realize, especially in this day and age- that we all have masks we wear, to impress, to fool people, to filter, to hide from others, to fake out, to shield, to protect, & unfortunately it leads to a phony non-authentic life. It allows us to make empty agreements with the non-genuine version of ourselves, which leads to such pain.
