Gwen Sefani Appearing on Maroon 5 New Album Reveals Singer Adam Levine
Maroon 5 has announced they are working on their fifth studio album titled V, which has a release date for September 2014. Frontman Adam Levine called in to speak with Ryan Seacrest with "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" and shared some insight for the new album.
"It's my favorite one that we've ever done," he says. "Here's the deal, I'm so excited about this album. Mostly because I think that what we always do with every record ... it's kind of everything we've ever done as a band musically. It's kind of all of those things on this album. It's what we used to sound like, it's what we sound like now, it's what we want to sound like tomorrow. It's all those elements all combined to make one, I think, really great album. It's more of an album ... It's a better listen than ever. I like it, but I made it, so ..."
Adam confirmed rumors about special guests to be on Maroon 5′s new album. Seacrest asked about Gwen Stefani and Levine says "How do you know everything already? I wanted it to be a surprise, but she is."
Levine also shares about his upcoming movie role in Begin Again with Keira Knightley, which is set to hit theaters on June 27.
"She's the greatest," Adam says about Knightley. "I love her ... It's a really great movie. Forget about me, I was okay in it. But the movie is, more importantly, just a really great movie." Levine plays a singer who drops his supportive girlfriend (Keira) after he gains success and then she sets out on creating her own career in music with her talent.
"It's about a lot of things," Adam adds. "My particular character plays kind of a semi ... jerk face. It's a love sorry, but it's other things, too. It's got a lot of things going on. The heart of it is about music and relationships, people's relationships with each other. There are a lot of different stories being told ... It's just a beautiful movie. I'm very proud of it. I would love this movie, regardless of whether I was in it or not. It's going to be great."
