Dailey & Vincent Talk About Working with Dolly Parton on "Road to Bethlehem"
Multi-GRAMMY® nominated duo Dailey & Vincent have teamed up with the legendary Dolly Parton for their new song "Road to Bethlehem." This song is from their first-ever Christmas record, Dailey & Vincent: The Sounds of Christmas, available Oct. 12 from BMG. The Sounds of Christmas experience is more than just an album release as momentum continues throughout the holiday season with a nationally broadcast television Christmas concert special, four all-new Christmas episodes of "The Dailey & Vincent Show" on RFD-TV and a 15-city Christmas tour.
In an exclusive feature with Parade.com, Jamie Dailey shares, "I think any artist would be hard pressed to find anyone more kind, talented and special than Dolly Parton. It's always an honor to sing or work with such an American icon, who is filled with such heart and love."
Darrin Vincent adds, "I've been on nine of Dolly Parton's records, but to have her on our Christmas album was a dream come true for Jamie and me. We are so thankful that she took time out of her busy schedule for a song that Jimmy Fortune and Jeff Bates wrote, depicting the story of Joseph and Mary on their way to Bethlehem. The first time I heard it I just cried like a baby because I could vividly see it in my mind. With Dolly singing on the second verse and the harmony of the song, it just takes it to a whole new level. I can't believe it - I'm still stunned and so thankful."
Dailey & Vincent: The Sounds of Christmas features Christmas classics like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Carol of the Bells" and "Go Tell It On The Mountain" as well as never-before-heard holiday tunes such as "Road To Bethlehem" featuring Parton, written by Country Music Hall of Fame and Gospel Music Hall of Fame member Jimmy Fortune and Jeff Bates. 2018 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Ricky Skaggs also joins Dailey & Vincent on a cut of Alabama's "Tonight It's Christmas," which is one of two bonus tracks available exclusively when fans purchase the Christmas record at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® locations and online at CrackerBarrel.com.
"I've wanted to record a Christmas record my whole life, so to say I'm unhinged with excitement over the release of The Sounds of Christmas is an understatement!" expressed Jamie Dailey.
"It's been a dream of ours the past 10 years. Timing is everything, and we're very happy we waited. The song selection on this album takes you through a journey from childhood to adulthood, laughs, memories and the true meaning of Christmas," added Darrin Vincent.
To coincide with the record's release, the Grand Ole Opry stars recently taped "The Sounds of Christmas," a broadcast television concert special, at The Franklin Theatre. During the sold-out special, which was produced by BMG Filmed Entertainment and directed by BMG's Joe Thomas, Dailey & Vincent were joined by fellow entertainers, including CeCe Winans, Béla Fleck, who have a combined total of 26 GRAMMY® awards.
Fans throughout the country can hear songs from the new record as well as other Dailey & Vincent staples live on "Dailey & Vincent's A Springer Mountain Farms Chicken Christmas Tour." The 15-city tour kicks off in Virginia on Nov. 24. To check out the full schedule of tour dates and purchase tickets, click HERE.
