Carrie Underwood & Yolanda Adams Join Voices to Pay Tribute to Elvis Presley with Gospel Medley
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood will join voices with Gospel legend Yolanda Adams to sing a medley of Gospel hymns in tribute to the late rock icon Elvis Presley. Underwood and Adams will be singing a medley comprising of "How Great Thou Art," "He Touched Me," and "You'll Never Walk Alone." This is a nod to Presley who also had had recorded his share of hymns and Gospel songs throughout his career.
The tribute will be part of NBC's upcoming Elvis All-Star Tribute. The Feb. 17 two-hour prime-time event will be hosted by Blake Shelton. It will feature performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Ed Sheeran, Dierks Bentley, Alessia Cara, John Legend, Little Big Town, Jennifer Lopez, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Pistol Annies, Darius Rucker, Yolanda Adams, Mac Davis, John Fogerty, Josh Groban, Adam Lambert, Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
The tribute, produced by Ken Ehrlich for AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC, will recreate the 1968 special and feature rare footage and interviews with wife Priscilla Presley, the original special's director, Steve Binder, as well as a special appearance from daughter Lisa Marie Presley, according to a release announcing the show.
An accompanying album, The Best of the '68 Comeback Special, will be released on Feb. 15 on RCA/Legacy Recordings, including the Elvis recordings and performances that inspired the special as well as the new version of "If I Can Dream."
