Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime 2014 Release Date, Price and Specs Update Including Gold Body Option

Samsung is gearing up to release their next Galaxy S5 model, the Samsung Galaxy 5S Prime (aka Galaxy F). Price cuts have hit the current Samsung smartphones recently, which gives another indicator that a new high end model is getting ready to release, which many think will be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime/Galaxy F Specs: The Galaxy S5 Prime will have higher specs Galaxy S5 and also have a metal/aluminium finish body after the Galaxy S5 was criticised for their plastic build quality. The is reported to be available in a black or silver option.  Evleaks has also shown it in a new color: Glowing Gold. The Galaxy S5 Prime could feature a high resolution (2560 x 1440) on a slightly smaller display - 5.2in compared to 5.5in. 

The Galaxy S5 Prime will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, an Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM, which are all upgrade specs from the Galaxy S5 which supports a Snapdragon 801, Adreno 330 and 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy S5 Prime will come preloaded with Android 4.4.3 KitKat and, no doubt, Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. The Galaxy S5 Prime will retain the fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor found on its predecessor. It will have a flap covering the microUSB port so it looks like it's also dust- and waterproof.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime/Galaxy F Release date: Samsung has not set an official release date for the Galaxy S5 Prime. Some thought it could be June and some think it will wait and release this Fall with the Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime/Galaxy F Price: Price looks like it will cost around $100 more than the current flagship Galaxy S5, as the Prime model has advanced specs.

The Galaxy F was seen on the FCC's listings, with a device under model numbers SM-G906S, SM-G906K and SM-G906L having recently been certified for NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Samsung is still expected to release a Galaxy S5 mini, and Galaxy S5 Active as well at some point.
