Down East Boys Celebrate First No. 1 Song
For decades, The Down East Boys have spread God's message through music, making a difference in people's lives with their voices. Their far-reaching impact is being recognized with their single "Beat Up Bible" reaching the #1 spot on the Singing News chart in December 2018.
"It's amazing with this song-as much as we poured into albums over the years-this song was so simple and so easy," says lead singer Ricky Carden. "It was all about the message."
The song, which paints the picture of a "worn out and torn up" book used by generations to teach the value of prayer, is the group's first #1. It has quickly made an impact on people, with several bringing their family Bibles to Down East Boys performances and sharing what the song has meant to them.
"That music is impacting people's lives, and that's why we do what we do," says Carden. "We do this every week because we love this music and it makes a difference."
Crossroads recently congratulated the group for their success with a luncheon and commemorative plaques. Crossroads would also like to thank Richard Hyssong for his promotion assistance. "Beat Up Bible" is featured on the Down East Boys' latest album, One Day In The Past. Listen to it HERE.
