The Late Nabeel Qureshi Honored with the 2019 Christian Book of the Year Award
The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) at the 2019 Christian Book Awards has honored the late evangelist and author Nabeel Qureshi. Qureshi was posthumously honored when his book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: Third Edition with Bonus Content, New Reflections (Zondervan) won the 2019 Christian Book of the Year in the Audio category.
The Christian Book Award® program has recognized the absolute highest quality in non-fiction Christian books since 1978. Based on excellence in content, literary quality, design, and impact, the Christian Book Award® program is the oldest and among the most prestigious awards in the religious publishing industry.
"It's an honor to have our authors and publishing teams recognized by the ECPA for their efforts to reach readers around with world with meaningful content," says Mark Schoenwald, CEO and president of HarperCollins Christian Publishing. "We are proud to partner with authors like Lysa who help further our mission to inspire the world with content that honors Jesus Christ."
"To have Nabeel's work honored by the ECPA is a testament to the legacy he left by sharing the powerful story of his conversion from Islam to Christianity," says Stanley N. Gundry, senior v-p and publisher for Zondervan Reflective. "It's a privilege to continue to steward his message and allow his witness for God to live on through his writing."
In Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, now expanded with new bonus content, Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way.
Providing an intimate window into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi struggled with an inner turmoil that will challenge Christians, Muslims, and all those who are interested in the world's greatest religions.
Engaging and thought-provoking, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus tells a powerful story of the clash between Islam and Christianity in one man's heart--and of the peace he eventually found in Jesus.
